“I still can’t believe that I had the chance to be on The Big Spin show,” said 71-year-old Walt Belcher. “I entered lots of tickets, but I never thought I would actually be chosen.

“When the wheel stopped on the $2 million prize, I was blown away! All of this has been such a blessing and I feel very fortunate.”

Belcher was selected to appear on the show with former Detroit Piston John Salley after Belcher entered several losing tickets for The Big Spin instant game.

Players with losing tickets were allowed to submit them for a random drawing where selected winners would get a second chance to win a prize on the game show.

Five players were chosen for the show and given the chance to spin a wheel with prizes ranging from $100,000 to $2 million. Belcher was lucky enough to land on the $2 million prize.

“It still hasn’t sunk in that I won, so I haven’t decided what I will do with the money yet. All I can say right now is that it pays off to enter your losing tickets,” Belcher said.

He elected to receive his prize as a one-time lump-sum of $1.3 million rather than the annuity. Belcher did not elaborate on his plans for the money.
